Imitable Lessons from Aliko Dangote Success Story

Africa's richest man has not failed to be at his peak for ducky years and also written his name in the minds of the multitude through his business. Great men have qualities that separates them from the others and have done the unusual things that exceeds the normality of life; though it takes great boldness and strive. Aliko Dangote was born in kano by Mariya Sanusi Dantata to Mohammed Dangote.

Looking into the life of this great man and his successes, there are things that can be learnt from him. You will only do yourself good by reading through.

Start Early

Aliko established Dangote group at the age of 20. Like some youths see themselves as being too young to pursue their dream, he didn't see himself as too young to try something big. Starting young saves you much pressure in life and gives you the time to learn and grow by your mistakes. You are never too young to become wealthy and achieve your dream. Don't allow anyone turn down the giant in you by saying things like, "you are too young to do that" "wait until you become matured enough". My friends, there is never the best time to start. Waiting until you are matured enough is waiting to be pressured and depressed in life.

Get The Proper Education

These two things are different, between getting degrees and being rightfully and properly educated. Education is the process of learning and acquiring knowledge. Like the popular saying goes, "Knowledge is power". For business knowledge, Aliko worked under his uncle in order to gain a practical business education and he later went to college in Egypt where he pursued a course in Business studies from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. The level of knowledge you acquire determines the volume at which you operate. You can not perform beyond the height of your knowledge. Always be eager to learn at any given opportunity; better still, make one.

Sticking to the plan sacrificially

1977, Aliko met with his uncle and told him about his business plan of starting his own company, also requesting a loan of 500,000 which would be currently estimated as 30million. Like most youths at that age of 20, he was not carried away by the huge amount of money to go into buying luxuries for himself. He was focused enough to be inspired by the massiveness of his dream. It takes an unusual sacrifice to achieve great fortune in life. He didn't even buy himself a car.

“Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.”  ― J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

Honour the Lord and His prophets

A renowned man of God by the name Benson Idahosa had an encounter with this young businessman in an airplane at Benin airport. It happened that some visitors T.L Osborn and his wife Daisy visited Benson in Benin city at the Miracle centre of Church of God Mission opposite the airport. They had to travel back from Benin airport to Lagos, arriving Johannesburg to France, England and the US. Unfortunately, they had ran out of time without getting tickets and the passengers were already inside the plane. Benson had to stop the pilot from flying by standing in front of it waving and opted to speak with the passengers if two persons can leave their seats for his visitors. After a long time, Aliko stood up and asked his assistant to do the same as well. Benson happily broke down in tears with prophetic prayers after asking for his name and what he does for a living. He prayed.. "The world will get up for you" "My God will bless you!" "God will take you and your business beyond measure". After that encounter, Aliko has never cease to keep growing massively. Greatness is of a man that honor God.

Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 2chronicles 20:20

Build your future

My friends, it took Aliko decades to build his wealth to where it is now. As the wealth of King solomon was not built in a day, so is other men's wealth. To be wealthy is building valued assets, not liabilities. There is time to cook and time to eat. Take your time to cook a delicious meal in order to suit your taste.
